About the role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Data Engineer to join our growing team. We're looking for someone with a strong background in Python, SQL, and some basic knowledge in using DBT for data transformation and modelling.

In this role, you will work closely with data engineers and analysts to design, develop, and implement data pipelines that are at the heart of our product.

About You
We're looking for a Mid-Level Data Engineer who is eager to learn new skills whilst contributing to a fast-paced SaaS environment. Here's what makes you a great fit:

• 4-6 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• It would be valuable to have experience working with ambiguity in a scale-up (or scale-up-like) environment.
• Knowledge of financial data and ledger-based systems a plus but not essential. 
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD workflows for data engineering projects.
• Proven ability to leverage CI/CD tools to streamline data pipeline development and deployment.
• Experience designing and implementing ETL pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, Luigi, Spark, or similar frameworks. 
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modelling techniques.
• Experience with SQL and proficiency in writing queries (e.g., T-SQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms AWS, GCP, Azure, (Azure preferred but not essential).
• A strong focus on data quality & data ingestion. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Eager to learn and grow your data engineering skills.

Key responsibilities of the Mid-Level Data Engineer; 

• Design, develop, and implement ETL pipelines to extract data from various sources (databases, APIs, etc.).
• Designing and implementing CI/CD workflows for data engineering projects.
• Cleanse, transform, and validate data to ensure high quality and consistency before loading it into data warehouses or data lakes.
• Develop and maintain data models using DBT and/or SQL, that are efficient, scalable, and reliable (DBT is desirable but not essential).
• Assist in optimizing ETL processes for efficiency, scalability, and performance.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data pipelines and data models.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ETL-related issues, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other engineers to understand data needs and business requirements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the data engineering field, particularly in the area of ETL tools and frameworks.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions within the team.
