About the role
We're seeking a skilled DevOps/SRE Engineer to join our fast-paced Fintech startup. In this role, you'll be instrumental in building and maintaining our Azure cloud infrastructure, implementing & maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our financial technology platform. You'll work closely with development and product teams to streamline operations and drive innovation in our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer;
- Design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure on Azure, AWS, or other public cloud platforms.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
- Implement infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot production environment issues using cloud-native and traditional monitoring tools like Zabbix.
- Manage container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar platforms.
- Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure deployments and software stacks.
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance application performance and scalability, providing best-practice guidance when necessary.
- Automate routine tasks and create self-service tools for developers to reduce personal and team toil.
- Write and maintain comprehensive documentation to simplify support requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system reliability and work to consistently reduce on-call events
About You
The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator who values clear documentation and takes pride in automating tasks to increase efficiency. You are skilled in both problem solving and technical support which enables you to work well as part of a fast-paced team.
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and their services
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools like ADO, Jenkins or GitLab CI
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack)
- Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert are a plus
